Role

As Communications Manager, I ensure clarity, accuracy, and fidelity to Apex’s vision of “evaluation that works” and our mission of Systems Learning™ in all instances of company messaging. I work cross-departmentally to provide meaningful content and timely updates to our partners, enabling them to better serve their clients and communities. I oversee and execute all aspects of Apex’s social media presence, including working closely with project teams to uplift projects, publications, and presentations. I coordinate conference participation, promotional materials, and distribution of informational resources. I also manage the Apex website, ensuring content is regularly refreshed and working with our web development team to address tasks related to features and functioning. The best aspect of my role is the opportunity to connect colleagues and clients with each other and with solutions for the complex issues that Apex’s work addresses.

Background and Education

I came to Apex after establishing an administrative and teaching career in the private educational sector. I worked with diverse populations of students and faculty, taught students in grades K-5, and served as a Student Services Coordinator, Summer Program Director, and Director of Admission.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational/Interpersonal Communication with a minor in Business. I’m fascinated with how human beings relate to one another, express needs, and work collaboratively. After earning my undergraduate degree I pursued coursework at Duke University, directing my studies toward community engagement.

Outside Apex, I devote my time to family, getting creative in the kitchen, enjoying time in nature, and reading good books.
